Research studies involving this website
We have conducted a number of research studies looking at the impact of this website on user knowledge and attitudes. We are still continuing this research so more information will be added to this page as we complete different studies. The research involved completing a questionnaire about antibiotics and their use in Acute Otitis Media (a common childhood ear infection), then looking through this website and then completing the same questionnaire again to see if your knowledge or attitudes changed. Acute Otitis Media is a particularly difficult infection for GPs to decide whether or not antibiotics are necessary and the evidence is far from clear. See the section of this site on
Earache
for more details.
